How 'No' Is Good News
by Ken DyneThey're smiling, they're laughing, they're amazing and, basically they're having a great time.
That's what got us into being entertainers in the first place, right?
That's why we do it.
But that can also be used against us.
How many times have you regretted agreeing to something?
There is power in saying 'no'.
And finding good ways of declining is such an important thing to master.
You know, doing it gracefully so you don't come across as a dick?!
The wrong type of gig that's going to make you look bad.
Say no.
The event who wants you to do it for 'exposure' but exposure isn't in your marketing plan.
Say no.
The gig that's going to take you away for 4 days and not pay you an extra penny.
Say no.
The favours, the requests that are above and beyond what you want to do.
Just say no.
You'll keep your stress levels down, and if you do it with grace, you'll come off better for it.
Right, must get to the train station. Northampton today.
